High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, founder of DAAR Communications, his daughter-in-law, and six members of his family have tested positive for coronavirus.
Recall that within the week, the Chairman of DAAR Communications, Raymond Dokpesi Jr., also tested positive to the disease.
This prompted the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to isolate members of the Dokpesi family and conduct a test on everyone the chairman had contact with.
According to ait.live, the test conducted came out positive for eight members of the family.
However on Friday, Chief Dokpesi and other affected family members were taken by the NCDC to the isolation centre at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada, where his son is also receiving treatment.
The media mogul, who spoke to journalists shortly after the arrival of the ambulance, said, “I am quite okay. I feel very well.”
More so, the NCDC have started tracing contacts and conducting test on them.
Senior management and members of staff who had been in close contact with the company’s index case has also been tested, while the health authorities in the Federal Capital Territory had also carried out immediate fumigation of the entire building housing DAAR Headquarters at Kpaduma hills in Asokoro District of Abuja.
