President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated British-Nigerian boxer, Anthony Joshua, after his victory against Mexican Andy Ruiz.
According to the President, “the downfall of a man is truly not the end of his life,” he thanked Joshua for making the country proud.
He said, I salute World Heavyweight Boxing Champion, Anthony Joshua, on his Saturday night comeback victory over Andy Ruiz Jnr. You have brought joy and celebration to millions of Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora; we are and will continue to be immensely proud of you.
The downfall of a man is truly not the end of his life. There’s always another, and better day. This is a lesson we must all learn from Anthony Joshua, as a country.”
Joshua won the World Heavyweight Championship, after winning Ruiz in a unanimous battle to win back his titles, after losing them to Ruiz in their previous encounter.
