The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, October 1, 2019, as a public holiday to commemorate Nigeria’s 59th Independence Anniversary.
This was made known in a statement read by the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola on behalf of the Federal Government.
The statement which was signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Barrister Georgina Ehuriah, assured Nigerians of Government’s commitment to end the current spate of insecurity in the country.
Aregbesola congratulated Nigerians at home and in diaspora abroad on the anniversary of Nigeria’s independence, while praying for peace and stability in the nation, as these are necessary conditions for the development of any country.
