Large crowd were at the National Headquarters of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), to cheer one of its presidential aspirants, Atiku Abubakar, as he stormed the Abuja office to submit his nomination form.
As reported earlier by some media outlets, that policemen were firing shots into the air to disperse the crowd, who were said to be rioting. A security source at the PDP secretariat, has however debunked the claim, telling SaharaReporters on phone that it was a “crowd control issue” that was quelled by personnel of the Nigeria Police Force.
Thirteen candidates are contesting for the position of President under the PDP, whose presidential primary holds in a few weeks.
