World Press Conference: I’ll Leave If Impeached By Two-Thirds Of The Senate – Saraki

Bukola Saraki has assured Senators loyal to the opposition who are clamouring for his resignation, that he would step down as Senate President, should he be impeached by two-thirds majority of the upper chamber.

Saraki said this on Wednesday while addressing a ‘World press Conference’ on Tuesday’s siege to the National Assembly by the Department of State Services (DSS).

“The day two-thirds of our members no longer have confidence in us, we will leave this place,” Saraki said as he wound up his speech.

It will be recalled that Saraki defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), on whose platform he rose as Senate President, to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in July, provoking the APC, who are now calling for his resignation/impeachment.
