SGF Launches New Official Website at a Cost of N64m

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, yesterday launched a new official website designed at the cost of N64 million, for his office.

The website, www.osgf.gov.ng, according to the SGF, has updated security features, informations and compliant to the Executive Order 001, amongst otherwise. He complained about the old website which lacked basic technology needed to make the office function well.

”The federal government had allocated N65m for the portal in the 2017 budget. There was a contract in 2017. The figure is in the public domain. It is about N64m including procurement of laptops, training, consultancy services. The contract was awarded by the Bureau of Public Procurement in accordance with the procurement act.” he said

More so, he added that the new website will “bring governance to the people” and will “add value”, by disseminating information to all citizens through some of its features. The website has links to some documents such as the Freedom of Information Act, 2011 and also to some official government websites such as the Federal Road Safety Corps and the National Identity Management Commission.

The SGF said the N46 million also involves training of 50 officers that will facilitate timely updates and ensure “very robust content management system, procurement of laptops as well as consultancy services
