The Senate on Thursday, directed its Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions to issue a warrant of arrest on former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commision (EFCC), Ibrahim Lamorde.
The ex-boss of the anti-graft agency, had refused to honour several invitations of the Committee to answer allegations of corrupt practices levelled against him while in office.
Specifically he was accused of diversion of N1 trillion recovered loot.
Sen. Sam Anyanwu, the Chairman of the Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, while presenting the report of the Committee to the Senate, requested for a warrant of arrest on Larmode.
Mr. Lamorde is being accused of diversing N1 trillion recovered loot.
