President Buhari & Nigerian Delegates Misses UN’s Boko Haram Meeting

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari and his delegation were absent at a meeting held by the United Nation’s, to discuss and proffer solution to the problems of Boko Haram and of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

The UN, Cameroon, Chad, Niger appealed on Friday for help for millions of people in the Lake Chad Basin Region, who have been forced to flee their homes, due to violence and incessant attacks by Boko Haram and areas that have been ravaged by droughts and floods that have brought malnutrition and disease.

The US and European Union diplomats said they were disappointed that Nigeria did not attend the event.

The event was chaired by United Nations aid chief, Stephen O’Brien, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
