The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, who has in various occasions since he assumed office decried the lack of improvement in the Nigerian science and technology sector, said that he would not use any foreign made vehicle throughout the period he would work for the current administration which is founded on Change.
This was disclosed by an insider in the ministry. According to the person, Dr. Onu has already listed two indigenous automakers in the country, namely, Innoson Motos and PAN Nigeria as companies that would provide the vehicles he would use.
The source also mentioned that the decision was taken by the Minister in order to encourage vehicle shoppers to patronise made in Nigeria vehicles rather than foreign made cars. The move was in line with the resolve of the present regime to diversify the economy and empower Nigerian people.
The Minister while talking to the members of the Joint Union Negotiating Council in his office affirmed the commitment of the present regime in repositioning Nigeria. He assured Nigerians that his ministry would make Nigeria to be advance in science and technology.
