A member of the British Parliament, Rt. Hon. Mark Field, has advised the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to hold dear its brand name no matter the victimisation of the government in power.
In a statement by Special Adviser to PDP National Publicity Secretary, Richard Ihediwa on Friday, Hon. Field gave the advice when led other members of the United Kingdom parliamentarians on a visit to the PDP Publicity Directorate on Friday.
He quoted the parliamentarian to have added that while it is common for some party members to demand the removal of leaders after electoral defeat, care must be taken not to jeopardize institutional memory in the party.
”Never trash your brand no matter what the government of the day is saying about you,” he admonished the party.
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh however, told the visitors that the party has overcome its initial trauma that accompanied the electoral setback of the 2015 general elections, and is now poised to regain power at the centre in 2019.
