MTN Denies Report of CEO Evading Court Papers

MTN Nigeria has released a statement denying report making rounds the social media online that its CEO, Mr. Ferdi Moolman has been avoiding the service of court papers by the Copyright Commission (NCC) in which MTN was accused of infringing on the copyright of a musician known as Baba 2010.

An MTN Executive, Amina Oyagbola who spoke to pressmen on the issue explained that the telco was not under the control of Moolman when the accusation was leveled against the company. Thus, she concluded that the report was false. She describes a belief in such a statement as patently false.

She said that the case was being handled by a competent court of jurisdiction for determination and none of the parties is expected to talk to on issue until it is determined.
