The International School Ibadan (ISI) has been shut down until further notice.

The school was closed down over the non-refusal of Muslim parents to budge, despite the resolution of the Governing Board of the school on the wearing of hijabs on school uniforms.

The school is currently under lock and key, and students have been asked to go home.

School activities had resumed on Monday as usual, until a female student appeared in hijab and was locked out.

Following the occurrence, parents and students suspected to be from the University of Ibadan and affirmed to be affiliated to the Islamic religion beseiged the school’s main gate in protest.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) was seen walking into the school premises earlier, and protesters left the entrance of the school and moved towards Akinyele Road.

Armed policemen were also seen hanging around the school premises to forestall breakdown of law and order.
