Federal Government reduces JAMB, NECO, BECE fees

The Federal Government has approved the reduction of the fees for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), the National Examination Council (NECO) and the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu who briefed State House Correspondents on the latest development, said the approval was granted during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo at the State House Villa, Abuja.

He saod as from January, 2019, prospective students are to pay N3,500 for JAMB as against N5,000, while the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) being conducted by NECO, would now cost N9,850 as against N11,350.

He added that, BECE fee would now cost N4,000 from N5,500.
