The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, November 20 as Public Holiday to mark the Eid-el Maulud.

This was made known in a statement by the Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd), and signed by Dr. Mohammed Umar, Permanent Secretary.

The Minister urged Muslims in the country to imbibe the tenets of the prophet which border on piety, charity, tolerance, peaceful co-existence, among others.

More so, he called on Nigerians to uphold the same virtues with a view to overcoming the current challenges facing the country.

Dambazau restated the Federal Government’s commitment to the unity of the country, noting that it would put adequate structures in place towards ensuring that the forthcoming general elections were credible, free and fair.
