At the recent 2015 African Business Awards that took place at New York City’s Four Seasons Hotel, Dangote Cement emerged as 2015 African Business of the year.
The award was organized by African Business Magazine. Dangote Cement which is owned by Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote was praised during the award presentation event for its unwavering drive to create new tailored products, acquire market share and expand its operations across Africa.
Guaranty Trust Bank was also honoured at the event as the bank won 2015 Good Corporate Governance award.
While speaking during the event, Omar Ben Yedder described all the awardees as worthy winners and encouraged both the winners and the nominees to continue with thier effort to bring about positive development to Africa.
While speakimg further, he said, “We would have liked to see more entries from the Francophone world, but this may reflect the fact that English speaking countries in general have a more developed and thriving private sector.”
