Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari gave a hint as to the policy direction of his administration on November 17, 2015, revealing that the policy direction will shape the economic future of Nigeria.
The hint was disclosed by Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo who represented the President as a visitor at the Foundation Day ceremony of University of Ibadan which held on November 17, 2015. The ceremony marked the grand finale of the premier university’s 67th convocation ceremony.
While speaking during the ceremony, Osinbajo revealed that the three-pronged approach of the President in respect of his policy shape are character, creativity and technology. He stated further that the President means well for the country but stressed that the character of Nigerians is very key in the country’s reformation.
The Vice President remarked that part of Nigeria’s challenges are infant mortality, extreme poverty, insecurity, climate change, the rabid activities of terrorists. He spoke further and described these challenges as monsters which cannot be allowed to grow.
While speaking further, he asked, “Government of the Federation is committed to responsive governance focusing on the ordinary man who daily looks for job. But how many jobs can be generated?’’
