BREAKING NEWS: Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo Sacks Lawal Daura As DSS DG For Invading National Assembly, Detains Him

Following the unlawful invasion of the National Assembly complex in the early hours of Tuesday by operatives of the Directorate of State Security Services (DSS), Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, has sacked the security agency’s Director General, Lawal Daura, over the siege and he has now been detained by the Nigeria Police.

Daura has been directed to hand over to the senior officer of the DSS until furthet notice.

Laolu Akande, The Vice President’s spokesman revealed this in a Tweet.

He wrote, “AgP Yemi Osinbajo has directed the termination of the appointment of the DG of the DSS, Mr. Lawal Musa Daura.”

“Mr. Daura has been directed to hand over to the most senior officer of the State Security Service until further notice.”

While the Official Twitter handle for the Nigeria Presidency @NGRPresident also Tweeted, “Acting President @ProfOsinbajo has directed the termination, with immediate effect, of the appointment of the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Mr. Lawal Musa Daura.”

More so, the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris was also summoned by the Acting President.
