The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has dissolved the party’s Kwara State Executive Committee, from the state to ward levels.

This is coming after the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, asked those who are involved in anti-party activities to step down.

Making the announcement on Monday, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party said the decision was after a review of “some actions of some leaders of the party” and the “open calls for the Senate President to decamp to the opposition Peoples Democratic Partt, PDP”.

“The National Working Committee (NWC) at its meeting of 30th of July, 2018 examines the unfolding development with the party in Kwara State, specifically the irregularities that characterized the conduct and outcome of the congresses that produced the leadership of the party at all levels (ward, local government and state),” the party said in a statement.

“The committee also reviewed the actions of some leaders of the party that emerged from the above congress who participated in an open rally calling on the Senate President to decamp to PDP.

“The National Working Committee after a careful and exhaustive deliberation on this and other development in the state chapter of the party and, pursuant to the provision of Article 13.4(Xvii) of the party’s constitution invoked its power as enshrined therein and hereby resolves as follows:
