The former ministers of science and technology during an interactive session with Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, the Minister of Science and Technology advised the administration of Buhari to anchor the nation’s development on science and technology.
The former ministers said that if science and technology were properly explored by the country, they would be inexhaustible oil for the country in the future as well as the cornerstone of wealth creation and development. According to the ministers, if the country builds on science and technology, it would results in job creation for the teeming youths of the country in an unprecedented manner.
Dr. Onu on his own part promised to keep working together with his predecessors. Dr. Onu thanked them for honoring his invitation even though it came at a very short notice.
In his speech, Onu said that the ministry would tap on the experience of the past ministers in its effort to reposition science and technology in its proper place as the key to providing solution to challenges security, economy and rule of law facing the country.
He pleaded with the former ministers to continue to cooperate with the minister by offering their knowledge and experience. Their cooperation according to Onu is importance because to move forward, one has to know about the past.
The interactive session was attended by Alhaji Abdulahi Ibrahim (SAN), Dr. (Mrs.) Paullen Tallen, General (Rtd) Sam Momah, Chief (Mrs.) Grace Ekpiwehre, Prof. Turner Isoun and Dr. Abdu Bulama who is the immediate predecessor of Dr. Onu.
