A chartered Gulfstream aircraft belonging to Skybird Airline with registration number 5N-BOD, has overshot the runway at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja, forcing all early flights to and from the airport to be cancelled.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), announced the closure of the runway, to enable authorities remove the aircraft, which overshot the runway on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, all flights into and from the Federal Capital Territory have been cancelled, as stranded passangers could be seen patiently waiting, with some leaving to try alternative means of transportation.
