Bharti Airtel has disclosed that its local subscribers have risen to 30 million. With this number of subscribers Airtel, has penetrated the local telecom market deeply by more than 20 percent.
The CEO of Airtel, Mr. Christian de Faria who announced this described it as a milestone and success which was achieved because of the stable internet and GSM services provided by the company to individuals, homes and businesses. The success as she mentioned was never obtained on a plate of gold.
The telecom market in the country according to him is highly competitive. He said that achieving the milestone was eloquent evidence that the company was delivering quality services and products back by innovations that have positively affected the lives of their customers.
The General Manager of Airtel Nigeria said that this increase in the number of mobile subscribers of the company was a milestone in the history of the growth of the company. Mr. de Faria said that the increase in the number of their network users was an indication that the company’s strategy was working.
Nigeria Communications Communication Commission said that the total number of mobile subscribers has risen to 146 million in June from 144 million subscribers it had in May, 2015. The 30 million subscribers obtained by Airtel represent more than 20 percent of the total mobile phone service users in the country.
