The Super Eagles of Nigeria jersey, has been voted the best, out of 32 other jerseys of participating nations at the FIFA 2018 World Cup.

The Nigerian jersey was voted 40,000 times, at the poll which was conducted by Sky Sports. Germany came second with 21,000 votes.

It will be recalled that the official kit of the Super Eagles was unveiled by Nike, the Super Eagles official kit sponsors and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in London on February 7, 2018, and due to demand, the price of the Nigerian jersey was pegged at N41,000 (113 USD)

Speaking on the jersey, Nike said:

“With a culture as vibrant as Nigeria’s, the collection had a lot to live up to.

“The central design theme is an abstract feather pattern inspired by the team’s “Super Eagles” nickname. Last seen during Nigeria’s 1994 appearance on the world stage, the design has been enlivened to capture the energy of the 2018 team.”

However, Dan Farron, Nike’s Football Design Director, said the goal was to tap into the attitude of the nation while keeping in mind the full identities of players, while designing the Super Eagles jersey.

Nike also, revealed that demand for the jersey had hit over three million worldwide before it even went on sale officially last week.
